This gentle walk offers a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself, with the world around you, and with what matters most. As you walk, you are invited to step out of the busyness of the day and into a slower rhythm, noticing what is within and what is beyond.
You might use this time simply to be quiet, or to pray if that is part of your tradition. Each stopping point offers a moment to reflect on different aspects of life: the work of care, the needs of the world, the beauty of creation, the gift of service, and the value of welcome.
This walk is open to all staff, patients, visitors of any or no faith. Wherever you are on your journey, may you find here a few sacred steps.

Sacred Steps: A Mindfulness and Prayer Walk at Moseley Hall Hospital

About Us
We are the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care team supporting Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust (BCHC), a major provider of community healthcare across Birmingham and the West Midlands. The Trust delivers more than 130 clinical services in over 300 locations, including Moseley Hall Hospital, Birmingham Dental Hospital, West Heath Hospital, and the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre.
Who We Support
We offer support to everyone across the Trust: staff, patients, families, carers, and visitors, whether or not they have a particular faith or belief. Our work includes spiritual care, pastoral listening, quiet presence, and the offer of prayer for those who wish to receive it.
At Moseley Hall Hospital, where the Sacred Steps walk is based, our chaplains are regularly present on wards and available by request. We work closely with clinical teams to support the holistic wellbeing of all who use the hospital's services.

What We Offer
We provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff. Time to talk about hope, fear, grief, meaning, and belonging. Opportunities for prayer and reflection, including support for people of all faiths and none. Resources for use in times of stress, illness, or transition. Support for end of life, bereavement, and remembrance.
Our Values
We work in the spirit of the Trust’s values: caring, open, respectful, responsible, and inclusive. The chaplaincy team is committed to offering space where every person feels seen, heard, and valued, whatever their background or belief.
